SEWING BASICS 101 CLASS ROSTER
Hey there, I'm Claire!

I recently graduated from University of California, Irvine, with a degree in Drama, with an emphasis in Costume Design. I have been sewing for about 20 years now. I have been sewing professionally for almost 10 years. My mother taught how to sew at a very young age. I really took to it because I love seeing how a piece of square fabric turns into a beautiful dress. I found it to be magic! After all these years, I still get pure joy seeing the magic happen right before my eyes. I put a lot of heart into my projects when I can. Sometimes the orders are needed so quickly that I just bust out the garment. It took me a while to hear my calling for sewing. I am so passionate about what I do that I find every little job I can in sewing.
I honestly never truly work since I love what I do. Also with sewing, there's so much to continue to learn. After all, different countries and cultures have different techniques. I have fast and easy sewing techniques all the way to haute-couture sewing techniques. I love teaching sewing because I do my best to spread the magic of that square piece of fabric into a beautiful ball gown. Seriously, it's magical.
I have tutored sewing here and there, mainly I work in costume shops and want to bring a fading art back to life. I , also, have coached softball and baseball for many years as I used to play both sports. I still love the game very much, but, had to change my focus to my career of Costume Design.
I show lots of passion in what I teach/coach. I will bring out the passion in you as well! I am very patient in teaching and coaching. I do my best to make each lesson fun and have the student see progress after each lesson.
I have been in theater for 8 years, working many kinds of shows, and currently making my way into the film industry. I have recently graduated from the Claire Trevor School of Preforming Arts with a degree emphasis in Costume design.
I look forward to seeing you in a class, very soon!

Best Wishes,
Claire
