"COSTUMES ARE MY DRUG OF CHOICE"

Costumes aren't just a status and a story - they are a time capsule. Our historical and period costumes take all of us back in time, to a world where humanity told a different story. By providing period and historical costumes that are a peak into the past, it not only gives you, the renter, a piece of history, but also, to those around you.

We enjoy being a part of that story - and that is what fills us with smiles.

He has deigned over 400 theatrical productions.  He has designed or assisted on over a dozen film projects, and was the historical consultant on commercials for Maidenform and GitHub.  Event work has included period parties, fashion shows, fund raisers, air shows, and costume displays. Print work includes a display that was part of the Peterson Automotive Museum exhibits of vintage dinners - In addition to numerous period photo stylings, for brochures and art exhibits.  Currently he is working with a group of artists on a book of vintage, Hollywood-inspired glamour shots, in the style of Hurrell.

In addition to providing costumes for the Film, TV and Theatre communities, he is also the owner of The Costume House, a full-service costume house based in North Hollywood, CA.  The shop provides costumes to schools, operas, events, and Halloween and private party clients - Doing both rentals and custom-made costumes and accessories.

The Costume House specializes in Period, and Historical costumes and accessories - and has over 80,000 costumes, in stock. New inventory is added weekly.

Shon’s most recent endeavors include: getting back into teaching and creating a line of vintage inspired clothing.  He has adapted his costume class into a 12 week course witch he teaches at The Costume House, where he is able to give the students hands on experience and share costumes and accessories that they would not normally see.

The garments featured in the clothing line come from some of Shon’s favorite pieces, from the collection.

He has also found a niche designing Musicals for Opera Companies.  Having worked for Ash Lawn Opera in Charlottesville, Virginia and Kentucky Opera in Louisville, designing such favorites as The Music Man, Fiddler on the Roof, My Fair Lady, Carousel, South Pacific and the Grandfather of all musicals, Show Boat, this is his passion.

“I like doing shows for the first time; and also revisiting a show that I have done before as you can challenge yourself to keep the show fresh and possibly use new inspirations in your design.”
